Project Coordinator

Salary: £23000 to £25000 dependant on experience

Location: Fareham

Hours of work: Monday to Friday working core hours

Dynamite Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a very well established business based in Hampshire. My client work within a specialist industry and offer an excellent product's and service's to their customers. Due to growth and an increase within the products and services out client requires additional support within their operations team and are now looking to recruit a Project Coordinator to join the team

As a Project Co-ordinator you will be working alongside the project manager and senior management to co-ordinate their projects and ensure those involved are meeting deadlines and tasks at hand. Using a project management system you will ensure all projects are created and relevant tasks are assigned to the individual responsible for completing them. It will be your responsibility to track all projects and tasks to ensure they are completed on time and to budget, providing a weekly report to the HO.

Your key responsibilities will include the following

  • Co-ordinate all Company projects using a specialist in house

  • Once a new project has been agreed it should be created using the internal system
  • Ask the project manager (PM) for a list of tasks associated with their project, the completion date and individuals responsible for tasks, if not the PM
  • Request the Project manager to provide the budget and any time/expense tracking that needs to be shown
  • Invite the relevant people to join the project using the internal system
  • Enable the expenses to be tracked on each project and provide regular financial reports to the Head office
  • Upload any relevant documents to support the project into the files area
  • Input tasks with completion date and assign them to the relevant employee
  • The PM will take control of their project once it has been created, adding, completing and removing tasks as appropriate. Keep a record of budget and time/expenses
  • Complete regular checks on the status of any tasks and ensure they are being completed on time, reminding individuals as appropriate
  • If tasks are not being completed on time highlight them to the PM who will need to advise a reason for the delay and change the completion date if applicable
  • Provide the Head Office with a weekly report on all projects detailing the progress of tasks and budget/expense details
  • Attend project meetings and take minutes when requested
  • Work with your colleagues in all departments to help ensure that there is a good level of effective communication and mutual support
  • Keep the Head Office informed of the progress of all aspects of your work and any problems that may arise within the department
  • Seek ways of reducing costs and minimising expenditure
  • Advise the Head Office promptly of any serious or potentially serious problems

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of project co ordination

  • Will ideally have or be working towards prince 2 although this is not essential
  • Innovative, creative and proactive with an analytical and solution-oriented approach
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to coordinate activities
  • GCSE English and Maths grade A-C
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Effective influencing and negotiating skills
  • Confident at liaising with staff at all levels in the
