Location: Portsmouth 
A great opportunity for an experienced materials and manufacturing manager with a focus on quality!
We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Manager for this successful, niche business based in Portsmouth which produces specialist products where all components are made from scratch on site. This is a newly created, exciting opportunity where the successful candidate will be able to shape the role and grow with the business.
Whilst flexibility is key, you will take overall responsibility for the timely manufacture and delivery of all products within budget and quality expectations. This will involve managing the purchasing of materials, scheduling and overseeing production, machining, assembly and finishing operations, through to the pick and dispatch of the finished product.
The Manufacturing Manager will provide regular reports and management information to the Directors, including information on KPI’s, safety, productivity and headcount. They will also be responsible for ensuring a reliable and adequately skilled workforce through providing ongoing training and development and coaching, with a motivational management style.
Budget preparation and monitoring, implementation of LEAN actions aligned with business objectives along with identifying continuous process improvements will all also form key areas of the role requirements.
In order to apply for this role, you must have proven experience within a similar role in a manufacturing / production / engineering environment.
A working knowledge and demonstrable experience in the following areas is also highly desirable:
LEAN Manufacturing
ERP Systems (SAP specifically) Supply Chain Management
Sales & Operations Planning
Effective People Management, Training, Development & Coaching
Bilingual Dutch & English an advantage
