HR Generalist
Location: Southampton
Salary: £30,000-£40,000
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37.5 Hours Monday – Friday, 5 days per week (Core hours 9 – 5 pm)

As the HR Generalist:
You will work very closely with the HR team, reporting to the Head of People and supporting them with general day to day HR duties. It’s a fast paced, exciting role and our client requires someone who can come in and hit the ground running! It is a great opportunity for you to work on some of the most sort after HR transformational work in the industry including but not limited to  implementation of  a new CRM system ,review and introduction of new benefits, employee engagement initiative, outsourced payroll, L&D initiatives, policies and procedure review, implementation of the HR Standard Operating Procedures. The role holder will work closely with the chief of people with daily transactional and operation work. This role will be very busy and challenging.
The Key Responsibilities of the HR generalist are as follows
  • Assist the Chief People Officer with all operational and day to day transactional responsibilities including providing HR Support
  • Support the current implementation of the new HR system and be the product champion in supporting other members of HR team with knowledge and support. Actively encourage managers to use relevant reporting tools to effectively manage their teams.
  • Transferring of current and ex-employee information onto the new system, plus confidential disposal of out-of-date information
  • Support with all Recruitment initiatives;
    • Recruitment administration;
      • Support managers and ensure they follow the recruitment process
      • Ensure all paper work is in place and stored per process
      • Managing the ATS by ensuring all jobs are created on the tool and ensure tool is used by all including managers, People team, external agencies etc
      • Supporting the CPO with diary management which includes setting up all interviews with candidates and relevant managers etc
      • All paperwork including offer letters and contracts
    • All Recruitment administrative duties
    • Keeping track of PSL, invoices, external recruitment boards and sources etc
  • Support with and in some cases lead inductions and assessment days
  • Provide generalist support to Managers and be part of disciplinary, grievance and performance issues as and when required 
  • Promote and encourage employees to respond to surveys and be part of a team to ensure that issues raised are reviewed and improvements made
  • Liaise with team producing company newsletter to ensure details of new starters leavers etc
  • Support managers with training needs analysis and look at ways to use current apprentice levy fund to up-skill employees alongside external providers.
  • Be part of the team in implementing a range of new employee benefits and enhance employee involvement with the pension scheme
  • Be the People Teams Culture Champion – driving engagement and use of company engagement platform
  • Supporting team with creating HR  reports and all round administration
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • CIPD Qualification
  • Generalist HR experience
  • Good organization skills with ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Multi-tasking skills and ability to switch from one task to another quickly
  • Personal resilience
  • Super user of Excel, Word and PowerPoint with the ability to run complex reports
  • Positive, can do attitude
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • The key for our People Team in humility
  • Will ideally be a BambooHR superuser- this is hugely advantageous although not essential
  • Reliable and trustworthy
  • Discreet and adhere to company procedures
  • Be discrete and follow confidentiality
  • Comfortable giving direct feedback and advice while remaining professional
  • Comfortable dealing with managers and staff at all levels of the business
  • Experienced in giving advice and support regarding grievances and disciplinaries
