Collections / Debt Recovery agent

Location: Epsom KT18

Salary: £14.00 per hour

Hours of work: Monday to Friday, core working hours

Starts date: Immediate

Duration of assignment: This position will be ongoing until December 2022

Our client is an award-winning business and have beautiful offices situated in
Due to a busy period our client is looking for additional support within the Customer Care team where you would support with Debt Recovery.

You will be in contact with customers who have breached the financial agreements and who are in arrears to support them and look to assist them in setting up affordable options
As a Collections Advisor / Debt Recovery advisor you will be responsible for the following tasks
  • Contact customers who are in arrears to collect overdue payments whilst ensuring the focus is always on delivering a good customer outcome
  • Complete affordability assessments with customers over the phone
  • Create mutually acceptable and sustainable payment arrangements based on the customers’ ability to pay and affordability
  • Identify and manage any potential vulnerability effectively and manage the situation in a sensitive manner
  • Liaise with third parties to support the customer
  • To ensure late arrears accounts are managed correctly
  • Payment management, including due date, card payments & direct debit changes
  • Resolution of first level customer complaints
  • Reply to incoming correspondence within agreed service standards for customers who are in arrears
  • To provide all round customer support and manage expectations
  • To complete administration
The ideal Collections Agent will have / be
  • Previous experience on the telephones with customers
  • Will have worked with vulnerable and aggressive customer situations previously and be able to demonstrate capability
  • in a Collections/ Dent recovery or Customer Outcomes environment would be desirable
  • Need to have good Decision-Making / Judgement Skills.
  • Clear and Logical Written and Oral Communication Skills.
  • PC Literate.
  • Will be confident and adaptable
