Customer Service Advisor - Travel Insurance Claims

Location: Funtington, Chichester, West Sussex

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 8-4pm, 9-5pm, 10-6pm, 12-8pm on a rostered pattern, weekends also involved with days in lieu given back.

Salary: £17,000 - £18,000 per annum + Benefits + language allowance

Dynamite Recruitment is proud to be working in partnership with a very well-established travel insurance related business based in the Chichester area.


Due to growth our client is looking to recruit Travel Claims Advisor to support within their contact centre and assist customers in managing their claims

As a Claims Advisor you will be responsible for the following tasks

  • Receive in-coming correspondence and calls from customers, clients and brokers relating to travel insurance claims
  • Ensure all relevant information is captured and updated on the system for each customer
  • Interpretation and application of policy wordings to specific claim scenarios
  • Carry out calculations to ensure accurate payments are made to customers on behalf of their insurance provider (including using exchange rate information)
  • Liaise with 3rd parties in relation to resolving queries and process claims
  • Ensure all documentation relating to a case is attained and uploaded both timely and accurately
  • Input data to our claims management system

Experience & Skills

  • Previous experience of working in the claims environment would be desirable
  • An ability to stay calm, confident and focussed while handling high numbers of incoming calls
  • The ability to reassure others and display high levels of empathy
  • A passion for helping other people who are distressed or anxious
  • Competent at using complex computer systems
  • Numerate and able to understand and process information quickly
  • Literate with the ability to tailor communication suitable for the appropriate audience
  • High levels of attention to detail
