Job Description

National Business Development Manager

Location: The head office is based in Portsmouth and you will ideally be asked to go to them a few days each week however you will mostly be field based

Salary: 30000-40000 basic plus uncapped commission, approximately 25% extra on top of your basis salary

Benefits - Company car, Free Health insurance, 5 weeks holidays + Bank Holiday

Hours : Monday to Friday although core hours may require you to work outside of this and in some cases stay overnight for appointments (all expenses paid)
Dynamite recruitment is currently working in partnership with a very well-established traditional business who are based in the Portsmouth area

Due to expansion plans in 2022 our client is looking to recruit a National Business Development Manager/ BDM to join the Sales team

Our client manufacture and provide specialist technical equipment both in the UK and worldwide and have plans to develop within the market
 
As a Sales and Account Manager you will be responsible for the following :
  • Self-generating new business opportunities using your own initiative
  • Support clients within the business to the business sector
  • To generate new business opportunities by cold calling, following up on leads via the telephone and email
  • To respond to warm enquiries which come into the business through multiple channels
  • To manage a portfolio of existing clients to build and maintain relationships
  • To maximise on opportunities with current clients
  • To arrange to visit customers and present to them in person – decision-makers
  • To arrange to meet with new potential customers
  • Overcome objections and encourage the unique company services
  • Co-ordinating calendar appointments and book in meetings
  • Building a database of prospective customers
  • To provide quotations and tender documentation/contracts
  • To adhere to SLA agreements
  • To manage customers expectations, complaints and ensure that enquiries are dealt with in a professional manner
  • To complete marketing campaigns to attract customers
  • Complete administration
 
   The ideal BDM / Business Development manager will have/be
  • Previous experience as a BDM / Business Development Manage
  • Have a proven track record within Sales and Account management
  • Will be honest and adaptable
  • Will have worked to and exceeded targets
  • Will have the ability to stand alone in this role and self-generate business / maximise opportunities
  • Willingness to learn new products and services
  • Technically minded
  • Lighting or electrical understanding/ background is an advantage
  • Working with CRM Systems
  • The role will involve traveling to visit customers and working at exhibitions and therefore flexibility to travel and stay overnight will be required
