Business Development Director

Dynamite Recruitment is currently recruiting for a sales-focused, results-driven Business Development Director. This is an exciting opportunity to work with an established, innovative and growing Software-as-a-Service company based in Portsmouth.
This role will play a significant part in the company's growth, both nationally and internationally and will be instrumental in building the sales capability for both direct sales and a channel partner programme.
- Develop and agree with the Board annual and three-year sales strategy setting targets for key business accounts and market channels and expand the stable of quality customers.
- Build and maintain strong lasting customer relationships, ensuring understanding of their requirements.
- Maximise direct and channel sales and take responsibility for the whole sales pipeline.
- Create and develop successful relationships and partnerships with other complementary companies to enable the company to meet its growth targets.
- Anticipate, understand and react to market trends and changes, incorporating them where they impact on strategy.
- Develop and manage a sales team, direct and channel, taking full responsibility for setting, agreeing and achieving sales targets.
- Oversee and instruct decisions on both traditional and digital marketing relating to direct and channel sales.
- Liaise and build relationships with technical managers and staff to ensure customer technical requirements and projects run smoothly and timescales met.
- Produce monthly, quarterly and annual sales and sales financial reports for the Board.
- Achieve a good understanding of company solutions, projects and processes to ensure high quality communication and alignment with customer requirements.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Will need demonstrated history of achieving and stretching sales targets
- Must be customer focused
- Will need experience of both direct and channel sales
- Will need experience and knowledge of the transactional IT industry and managed services (SaaS).
- Must have experience of operating at senior levels in the company and with customers
- Will need the ability to create, communicate and implement sales strategy
- Must have high level of written and oral communication skills; ability to present, communicate and influence all levels of staff in the company and with customers
- Must have strong negotiation skills
- Will need the ability to understand and articulate the company solutions projects and processes
- Will require an interest in/understanding in EDI/digital supply chain and of latest technologies such as Blockchain, Fintech, IoT and AI
- Will need a willingness to travel UK wide and some of Europe in the future
- Must have a real passion for technology!
