Account Manager
£30,000 - £40,000 PA
Bristol

Account manager required with utilities experience background to develop and manage customer relationships to achieve sales goals and execute sales plans. You will sell company products, solutions and services by managing existing accounts and develop new contacts/prospects in the utilities sector.  You will be working with OEM’s, sub-contractors and internal engineering staff, you will develop, introduce and market new utility-focused product/solutions to support utility customer demands. By effectively identifying and managing the needs of utility sector customers, you will help to ensure sustained growth and achievement of all targeted requirements.
  
Roles and Responsibilities;

 

  • Develop and implement the Company Utility Sales Strategy
  • Responsible for the growth and development of the Utility part of the Sales Department
  • Oversee key utility customer accounts to ensure that their requirements are met for all parts of the Business, and all possible Utility opportunities are identified and converted into revenue and agreed profit
  • Prepare and provide monthly sales/pipeline reports to the Head of Product Sales
  • Sales forecasting and Sales Pipeline Management
  • Build strong relationships with key customers and market players, delivering customer-centric solutions to ensure customer goodwill and ongoing loyalty
  • Identify, recognise and use negotiating skills and tactics, knowing how to leverage power in a negotiation
  • Carry out technical site surveys at customer sites and develop full written technical and commercial proposals and tender responses for Utility Customers, reviewing with the Head of Product Sales when required
  • Actively seek out new customers from End Users, Consultants and Contractors
  • Ensure outgoing quotations and tender responses are completed, in a timely fashion, are accurate and professionally presented
  • Regularly review all live and active projects with the Head of Product Sales and follow up accordingly
  • Ensure that all successful projects are handed over in line with Company Procedures
  • Work alongside the Utility Services Manager to develop and support key Customer Framework Agreements

  
Skills and Experience Required

 

 

  • Experience within sales/account management role with water sector (desirable)
  • Experience working within Power and/or Water Utility sectors
  • Experience in management of Sales Processes
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Good Diesel Generator knowledge with Electrical and/or Mechanical Experience/Qualifications (Desirable)
  • Self-motivated and self-driven individual
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to develop good customer and team relationships
  • Well organised and can demonstrate the ability to accurately analyse and report on information gained
  • Confidence to work on own initiative with good planning and preparation skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a competent level of IT understanding
  • High standard of professionalism in appearance to reflect the company image, with a commensurate company vehicle
  • Must be prepared to work flexible hours that may on occasions require you to work outside the “normal” hours of work, including overnight stays
